On the third day, we were welcomed by the Education deputy at Setúbal Municipality. The welcome speech was given by Carla Guerreiro, the Education Deputy at Setúbal Municipality, reinforcing the importance of collaboration between the LANSEN – Learning Languages with Sense project and local stakeholders. In her address, Carla Guerreiro highlighted the municipality’s commitment to education and international partnerships, emphasizing how projects like LANSEN contribute to innovation, cultural exchange, and the development of new educational approaches. Carla Guerreiro expressed her support for the initiative and encouraged all participants to make the most of the learning and networking opportunities during the meeting. This moment helped to strengthen ties between the project and local institutions, creating opportunities for future cooperation and shared initiatives that can have a lasting impact on the community and education sector. Later on, we went on the Livramento Market Tour (SDG 8: Decent work and economic growth).

The Livramento Market Tour was a unique experience that allowed participants to explore the revitalization of a historic market, known for its rich variety of fresh fruits, vegetables, fish, meat, and other local products. During the visit, participants had the opportunity to see firsthand how the market has been modernized while preserving its traditional essence, serving as a model of sustainable local commerce and economic development. The tour highlighted how the market contributes to the local economy, supporting small businesses, farmers, and fishermen, while also promoting high-quality, locally sourced food.

This visit aligned with SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth, showcasing how historic spaces can be requalified and transformed into thriving economic and cultural hubs. It also emphasized the importance of local markets in sustaining jobs, encouraging fair trade, and preserving regional food traditions. The tour was an enriching experience, allowing participants to engage with vendors, understand the market’s impact on the community, and appreciate the balance between tradition and modern economic growth.

Later on, the team visited the Michael Giacometti Museum.

The visit to the Michel Giacometti Museum was another great opportunity to explore cultural heritage and sustainability, aligning with SDG 15: Life on Land. The museum showcases Portugal’s rural traditions, agricultural practices, and artisanal crafts, preserving the intangible cultural heritage linked to the land. Through its exhibits, participants gained insight into traditional farming methods, biodiversity, and the relationship between humans and nature. This visit emphasized the importance of protecting cultural and natural resources, highlighting sustainable ways of living that respect the environment and local traditions.
