My name is Jean-Gabriel Deshayes, and I teach mathematics at Lycée Saint-Charles in Saint-Pierre, on Reunion island.
Before becoming a teacher ten years ago, I worked as a telecommunications engineer.
Today I mostly teach students in Seconde and Première, and I love bringing an interdisciplinary spirit to my lessons, building bridges between mathematics and other fields.
This is exactly what drew me to the LANSEN project and its inspiring idea of learning languages through the five senses — an approach that reminds us how much richer learning becomes when it engages the whole person.
What excites me most about Erasmus is the chance to step beyond my own classroom, to meet fellow educators from across Europe, and to discover and exchange teaching practices with them; I truly believe that every conversation with a colleague from another country is an opportunity to learn something new and to grow, both as a teacher and as a person.
