DAY 3 – Discovering Cartagena and the Mar Menor!
The third day of the final meeting of the ERASMUS + LANSEN – Learning Languages with Sense(s) took students and teachers on an inspiring journey beyond Murcia to explore the historic city of Cartagena.
The day began with a visit to the city, where participants had time to walk through the streets and enjoy some free time while discovering the unique atmosphere of the Mediterraean port city.
One of the highlights of the visit was the Roman Theatre of Cartagena, where students received a contextual and historical explanation about this impressive archaelogical site and its importance in the history of the region.
The exploration continued with a boat tour around Cartagena’s bay, where participants learned about the city’s strategic and economic importance, particularly its long tradition in the construction of submarines and military vessels.
Later in the day, the group travelled to the Mar Menor. After an introduction to the bay, its ecosystem, and the local fauna, students were challenged to design an interactive route to help future visitors discover the area. using their senses, they observed the surrounding environment – the sea, the bay, the salt flats – and created questions and observations to guide others through this unique natural landscape.
Once again, the day perfectly reflected the spirit of the LANSEN project.
